Who we are?-History

Women and Girls Support-Ethiopia is Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and
Charity Society Organization (CSO) engaged empowering community, particularly,
women and girls through diverse developmental activities focusing on poverty
alleviation. It is legally registered organization in Ethiopia has a vision to see community
where women enjoy life equally as their male counterparts. Through creating economic
and social opportunities for women and girls, and enhancing their capacity through
multiple interventions including education and trainings, WGS-E strives to make its vision
viable.

WGS-E established by dedicated Ethiopians and has General Assembly which members
are comprises from like-minded professionals. The Board of Directors elected by General
Assembly is responsible for directing the organization who collectively envisions
developed and prosperous Ethiopia.

Establishment 

It is legally registered as Ethiopian Residence Charity organization and has got legal license according to the proclamation 621/2004 as Ethiopia Residence Charities with registration No.03511. 

 

The Logo 

Its name as well as the logo of WGS-E is an Ethiopian school girl who is marching to school with uniform made with traditional cloth showing that WGS-E is more focusing on girls’ education.
